The Kedarkantha Trek is one of the most scenic and beginner-friendly winter treks in the Indian Himalayas, taking you through snow-laden forests, charming remote villages, and ending at a majestic summit offering 360° views of snow-capped peaks. The 6-day journey starts with a drive from Dehradun to the peaceful village of Kotgaon, followed by a well-paced ascent through picturesque campsites like Khujaai and Bhoja Dhadi. The highlight is reaching the Kedarkantha summit at 12,500 ft, followed by a descent through the same magical route. With well-organized stays and manageable distances, this trek is perfect for nature lovers, beginners, and experienced trekkers alike.
Day 1: Drive from Dehradun to Kotgaon
Distance: 200 km
Duration: 10–11 hours
Pick-up Points:
Grand Legacy Hotel, near Laal Pul, Dehradun – 6:30 AM
Library Chowk, Mall Road, Mussoorie – 7:30 AM
Basecamp: Kotgaon
Transport Cost: ₹1100 + 5% GST per trekker (one-way)
Highlights:
A long but scenic drive through the changing landscapes of Uttarakhand. The route takes you past Mussoorie, Mori Valley, and dense pine forests before reaching the peaceful village of Kotgaon. Overnight stay and acclimatization here.
Day 2: Trek from Kotgaon to Khujaai
Trek Distance: 5.3 km
Duration: 5 hours
Altitude Gain: 6,400 ft → 9,460 ft
Terrain: Gradual ascent through dense pine and oak forests
Highlights:
Begin your trek with a walk through lush forest trails. Spot snow patches if trekking in peak winter. The campsite at Khujaai offers a peaceful forest clearing and spectacular views of surrounding mountains.
Day 3: Trek from Khujaai to Bhoja Dhadi
Trek Distance: 3 km
Duration: 3.5 hours
Altitude Gain: 9,460 ft → 10,700 ft
Terrain: Steeper forest trails with occasional clearings
Highlights:
A relatively short but steep climb to Bhoja Dhadi. The trail gets snowier and more scenic. Bhoja Dhadi campsite is open and surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Rest and prepare for summit day.
Day 4: Summit Day – Bhoja Dhadi to Khujaai via Kedarkantha Summit
Trek Distance: 9 km
Duration: 7–8 hours
Altitude: 10,700 ft → 12,500 ft (Summit) → 9,460 ft (Khujaai)

Please Note
- All accommodations are categorized under Standard Rooms. Triple/Quad-sharing arrangements
accommodate four individuals per room, while double-sharing arrangements include two
individuals per room. - Please note that hot water for bathing is not provided during the Kedarnath stay.
- Children under the age of 5 are not charged; however, only one child is permitted in a group of
four, and they will be accommodated within the same room. - For children aged 6 to 8, half the adult fare is applicable. Children aged 9 and above are
considered adults and will be charged accordingly.
Advance Deposit: To secure your tour package, please deposit an advance 30%
of total Amount
Pre-Tour Payment: Kindly ensure that 50% of the total amount is paid with in 5 to 7 Days after booking confirmation date, which is prior to the commencement of the tour. This payment serves as confirmation of your participation.
Final Payment: The remaining balance is to be settled upon your arrival, before
the start of the tour.
